He joined the bar in 1993. He was elected as the bar president in 2000 and was re-elected in 2002.
He specialized in commercial law, international arbitration and transport.
He is the president of the club Ohada Burundi.

He is a member of the Union Internationale des Avocats and of the East African Law Society.

Lubala & Associés is headed by Mr. Emmanuel Lubala.

Emmanuel has been working with Brussels partners Francis Goffin and Herman Lemaire for several years. He is a graduate in corporate law from the University of Kinshasa, DRC, and holds a Master’s degree in political and social sciences from the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He has been a researcher in the same university for many years. Emmanuel is a member of the Kinshasa Bar and the Group of Congolese Experts of Belgium. He is fluent in French, Swahili and Lingala and has a good knowledge of English.

Emmanuel has practiced corporate law in DRC, Burundi, Tanzania, as well as in Belgium.

For the past 20 years, he has specialized in matters of corporate, mining and tax law, assisting and acting as counsel to several national and international clients in setting up, liquidating and winding up companies. In addition, he has negotiating special regimes with the government. Emmanuel has specific legal expertise in mining fields, taxation of mining enterprises, acquisition and commercialization of mining products, the drawing up of investment projects in mining and other sectors, and has taken part in numerous discussions with the Congolese government regarding the privatization of public sector enterprises, notably those in the mining sector.

Emmanuel also has a broad expertise in the telecom and banking sectors. He acts as liquidator of Congolese banking companies.
