Marc Picat is the head of the European and Competition practice group. He works at the Brussels office.
Marc provides his clients with assistance on Belgian, EU and competition law in the context of merger control, notifications, antitrust, complaints, investigation and regulatory matters. Marc also advises clients on negotiating and drafting international commercial agreements and represents them in litigation matters including arbitration related to the execution or termination of such agreements.
Marc has a strong expertise in selective distribution for luxury goods companies ensuring their compliance with antitrust rules.
Marc has been involved in pan-European streamlining business arrangements and transactions so as to ensure compliance with commercial and competition national rules, for which he ensured a coordination role of multi-jurisdictions in the EU and abroad.
Marc started his career within the legal department of Arthur Andersen before joining Price Waterhouse Juridique et Fiscal in Paris in 1986.
Then Marc moved to Price Waterhouse EU services in Brussels as responsible for the EU law unit in 1993.
Marc was afterwards transferred to Landwell as a Head of International Commercial and EU law department until August 2005.
Marc joined Taylor Wessing’s Brussels office as managing partner in 2005 where he was responsible for the Commercial/Competition Department. Marc joined De Wolf & Partners in April 2010.
Marc is a member of CFCIB (Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie française en Belgique).

Marc regularly publishes articles and gives lectures on various topics of commercial and competition law. Marc is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), of the International Distribution Institute (IDI) and of the Commission on European contracts matters within the French Bar.
